Conversion of Measurement

There are two important rules to learn which will help you to change from

one measurement to another:

1. If you are asked to change (convert) from a small unit of measurement to a

larger unit of measurement, DIVIDE.

Examples :

inches to feet

feet to yards

pints to quarts

ounces to cups

quarts to gallons

milliliters to liters

grams to kilograms

meter to kilometer

larger

smaller

2. If you are asked to change (convert) from a large unit of measurement

to a smaller unit of measurement, MULTIPLY.

Examples:

feet to inches

yards to feet

yards to feet to inches

gallons to quarts

centimeter to millimeter

kilogram to gram

kilometer to meter

miles to yards

smaller
