Correcting Run-On Sentences

 

A run-on sentence is one that consists of two or more sentences joined together without punctuation marks. 

 

Use a slash mark (/) to separate the run-on sentences.

 

Example:  Mr. Clinton was our President / he was from Arkansas.

 

1.     Chris likes to fish his brother likes to camp they go to the mountains every weekend.

2.     My little brother is very greedy he ate all of the cookies now there aren't any for anyone else!

3.     Our new house in Sycamore is beautiful I hope you will come and visit me.

4.     Their soccer game had to be postponed because two of  their best players couldn't play one had the flu and one had a broken leg.

5.     Your advice really helped me to understand the book I will try to remember this when I read my next book.

6.     Lisa is going to the zoo on a field trip she likes to watch the manatees swim in their tank they are very cute animals.

7.     The telephone rang it was not for Lindsay it was for Ashley.

8.     Our class went for a walk to Dairy Queen as a reward everyone had a great time.

9.     The tornado swept through the city last year many children are still living in motels.

10. Mr. Hackett visited our math class he said that he learned a lot!
